Kidz Ministry “I Love to Read” Read-a-Thon!
We are excited to announce our 5th annual read-a-thon fundraiser!
Our goal is to bring students together with family and friends to encourage reading and to build literacy skills. Reading, listening to audiobooks, and reading to the participants all count towards the participants’ total minutes read! This promises to be fun for all!
The event begins on Sunday, April 13, 2025 and ends on Sunday, May 11, 2025 (kids can begin participating anytime):
- Sign up at Kidz Ministry or email pastor@cgucc.org
- Receive a bookmark and a reading minutes log (paper format)
- Log reading minutes throughout the month
- After reading 60 minutes, receive a $5 gift card to Dairy Queen by bringing the reading log to Kidz Ministry or email pastor@cgucc.org
- Turn in the reading log and any remaining donations by Monday, May 12, 2025 to receive PRIZES! (Delivered in person during the Read-a-thon Celebration and Church Picnic on Sunday, May 18th or mailed out.) Click HERE for all prize details.
- Reading 400-799 minutes receives a $20 Barnes & Noble gift card
- Reading 800+ minutes receives a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card
- Top readers for each age group receive a $50 Amazon gift card
Friends and family can support this fundraiser by:
- Donating cash
- Writing a personal check (made out to CGUCC with “Read-a-Thon” in the memo line)
- Donating with a Credit or Debit card online (select the “Read-a-Thon” dropdown and consider opting to offset the transaction fee)

Funds raised by Kidz Ministry will be donated to the CGUCC general fund.
